Factors Affecting Cost and Time Required for Plagiarism Removal

Every scholar reaching towards the end of a degree (after months of restless nights and hard work) hears this from their guide: “Well done. Now you just need to get the plagiarism report, and we are done. Ensure that the plagiarism should be below 10%.

This is a moment when every scholar is happy yet confused.
They have many new questions in their head, which they were not aware of till now:

  • Now, what is this plagiarism?
  • From where can I get a plagiarism report below 10%?
  • What is the cost of getting a plagiarism report below 10%?
  • How much time is required to get a plagiarism report below 10%?

And if the guide asks for both (a plagiarism report and an AI report), these questions are more than doubled.

  • Now, what is this AI report?
  • Is this AI report different than plagiarism?
  • Will I get 2 separate reports or 1 report showing plagiarism and AI both?
  • I used Grammarly to improve my writing. Will it increase my AI score?
  • I used QuillBot to paraphrase the literature review part. Will it increase my AI score?
  • From where can I get an AI report below 10%?
  • What is the cost of getting an AI report below 10%?
  • How much time is required to get an AI report below 10%?

Understanding Plagiarism and AI (What and How)

To explain in a simple way, plagiarism % is the text of your writing matching the writing of other authors, which is present in the database of software by which plagiarism is checked. This database is also known as a repository.

  • Plagiarism-checking software like Turnitin and DrillBit will match the whole text of your file with trillions of files present in their database and give a report in which the text matching with the writing of other authors will be shown as highlighted text.
  • Now the AI report also has highlighted text, but it identifies the use of AI tools in writing. If the matter is written using AI (like ChatGPT or Claude) or polished using AI (like Grammarly) or paraphrased using AI (like Quillbot), then the report will highlight such matter in the file.

Now, there is a misconception in the mind of scholars, like:

All tools show the same percentage of plagiarism and AI. So, I will get the same report when I check for plagiarism or AI on any tool.

It’s a big myth; reports will always be different. As explained above,

  • Plagiarism is calculated by comparing against a database, and different tools have different databases, so the percentage will be different.
  • The technique used for detecting AI is different in different tools, so the AI report will also be different.

We are writing a dedicated page on this, which will be live soon in the near future, and we will place a link to read the blog here.

Checking: First step towards getting a report below 10%

Checking for plagiarism or AI is the first step towards the journey of getting a report below 10%.

On checking, if the score comes below 10% by itself, then you need to pay only checking charges. But if the score comes a little high, then you can reduce it yourself or you can hire services of our experts

Getting below 10% is like a race where everyone knows the finish line, but not everyone knows their starting point..
Knowing the starting point is equally important.
A person starting this race from 15% will require less time and efforts than the time and efforts required by another person starting this race from 35%.

Time and Efforts required for Plagiarism and/or AI Removal

Time and Cost for plagiarism and/or AI removal depend on efforts required.

Low efforts required = Low Charges
High efforts required = High Charges

Efforts required vary based on multiple factors, including:

  1. Current plagiarism and/or AI %
  2. Targeted plagiarism and/or AI %
  3. Number of Pages
  4. Number of Words
  5. Subject
  6. Complexity and number of technical words (which cannot be changed)
  7. Language of document
  8. Formatting
  9. Headings affected or not
  10. Tables affected or not

Current and Targeted Plagiarism and/or AI %

Knowing the current and targeted plagiarism and AI % is very important in this race/journey.

Just as a doctor cannot estimate the time or cost of surgery without examining the patient and full reports. Similarly, without reviewing the plagiarism report, we cannot determine the efforts required to achieve your desired plagiarism percentage.

So, you need to get initial reports from your college library, or we can generate current reports for you at very nominal cost. Our reports generation price starts at ₹89 only.

Number of Pages and Number of Words

Number of pages and number of words tell about the length of the document.

The length of the document is a very important aspect while estimating the efforts required for plagiarism and/or AI removal.

This is very natural because editing a long document with 300 pages requires more efforts than editing a short document having just 20 pages.

Subject and Complexity in Editing Content shown as Plagiarised

Common words (like “and”, “the”, or “or”) and names, as well as repeated words used in a thesis or research paper, are a headache for all subjects.

But some subjects have many technical words that cannot be changed if the report is showing them as plagiarised. Synonymous words cannot be used for them, so it is difficult to reduce plagiarism if such words are shown highlighted in the plagiarism report.

Here is a list of some subjects and some common words in those subjects to explain clearly.

Medical

Names of Bones, Muscles, Instruments, Diseases, Drugs, Vitamins, Minerals, Viruses, Bacteria, etc.)

Pharmacy

Drug Names, Chemical Compounds, Dosage Terminology

Engineering

Technical Terminology, Names of Standards (ISO, IS, ASTM)

Computer Science

Programming Languages, Algorithm Names, Protocol Names

Law

Names of Laws, Acts, Cases, Countries, Legal Terminology

Environmental Science

Names of Treaties, Conventions, Species, Ecosystems

Physics

Names of Laws (Newton’s Laws, Ohm’s Law, Boyle’s Law, Names of Constants)

Chemistry

IUPAC Names, Periodic Table Elements, Chemical Formulas

Botany

Nomenclature, Taxonomy, Varnacular Names, Common Names

Zoology

Scientific Names of Animals, Taxonomy, Names of Bones

Mathematics

Theorem Names, Formula Names, Mathematical Constants

Economics

Names of Theories, Economic Indicators, Policy Names

Microbiology

Names of Bacteria, Viruses, Fungi, Scientific Nomenclature

Finance

Agriculture

Names of Crops, Pesticides, Fertilizers, Soil Types

History

Names of Wars, Treaties, Historical Figures, Places

Sociology

Names of Theories, Sociological Concepts, Act Names

Journalism

Names of Laws, Press Acts, Media Terminology

Our subject experts are aware of these terms and ensure they are handled carefully during the removal process—without changing their meaning or context.
Experts from different fields have different charges; therefore, the charges also depend on the subject of your work.

Language of Document and Formatting

During editing the document, editors face several challenges. Language is one of them because everyone cannot type all languages. Separate experts are required for typing Indian languages like Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, etc., or foreign languages like Japanese, French, Indonesian, etc.

Similarly, looking at formatting is very critical before deciding the efforts required for plagiarism removal. To align the text in the center, users use various methods like the following:

  1. Center Alignment (ctrl+e)
  2. Using Space Bar
  3. Using Tab
  4. Changing Indent

We know that expert writers will always use centre alignment, but there are some other innocent users who use the space bar or tab for this purpose. At the same time, when users convert a PDF file into a Word file using some software, then the software directly changes their indent to bring them in the center. Now when anyone paraphrases this content, the formatting will cause an issue if it is aligned in the center by spacebar or tab or indent.

Using software to convert a PDF to a Word file creates page breaks, section breaks, and column breaks to keep the Word file looking similar to the original PDF file. But these breaks are a severe headache in the process of editing the document.

Some documents use footnotes for references (e.g., ILA style), and if these footnotes are showing plagiarism and/or AI, the efforts required for removal increase multifold.
Thus, it is important to check the language and formatting of the document to determine the efforts required for removal of plagiarism and/or AI.

Headings and Tables

No academic document can be imagined without headings and tables. Both these elements are present in all documents, whether they are a thesis, research paper, review paper, or project report. If headings are showing plagiarism and AI, then it is challenging for the editors to paraphrase them without changing the theme of the document. This edited work may be unacceptable to the teacher, and scholars may face problems. Similarly, data in tables is also difficult to edit as compared to editing in a paragraph. So, the extent of data affected by plagiarism and/or AI in headings and tables is directly proportional to the efforts required for decreasing the plagiarism and/or AI percentage.

Estimation of Cost

Still, some scholars want an estimation before they share their data. So, they can click here to fill out a form to get an estimate of cost of plagiarism and/or AI removal.

Please fill in basic details correctly as explained in this article. We will share a range based on the details filled in the form, reflecting a minimum possible and maximum possible amount on your WhatsApp number as filled in the form.
